Shadows gathered near windows.

Things outside began noticing the hotel.
One night, every hallway light went dark except the front desk.
A black key appeared beside a blank ledger.
Written beside it were the words:
A guardian is required.
The following morning, a doorway appeared.
Behind it stood a forest beneath a moonless sky.
Archon stepped through.
